Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, Fart.PDF, b.k.a. FARTICUS WAS HERE is a self-taught, multi-disciplinary visual designer and creative director best known for his experimentation with texture, typography, semiotics, color theory and reinvention of pop culture references. Often using nostalgic and sci-fi elements, Farticus translates his abstract perspectives of daily life in a way that is aesthetically consistent, distinct, and strikingly relatable. His background in textile mediums (collaging, watercolor and acrylic painting, crayon, colored pencil, marker, and more) radiates through the spectrum of his work. Fart’s pieces vary from detailed, layered and seemingly chaotic mixed media to clean and simplistic layouts emphasizing composition, juxtaposition, and effective advertisement.
